ALMOST DIED IN DEHYDRATION

My son has a short gut as a result to his omphalocele complication. We were already aware that having this kind of health related problem will lead to malnutrition and dehydration. That is why we always gave him oral rehydration solution. After for 3 months of consuming the said meds, I had notice that his stoma releases watery discharges. I think it was just okay. Still continue giving the oral rehydration meds. In this situation, things were not the same, he is getting skinny. He vomited two times a day. On the third day, no more second thought, we rushed him to the nearest hospital.
Thank God. He was been rescued. He had a chronic lowest bowel movement for no definite known cause. We stayed in the hospital for four days and three nights.

Our hospital experiences:

A lot of liquid poohs came out to his fistula, like water in a drain! It pretty awful. We drain the colostomy bag every 4 hours. It came to a point also that his intravenous (IV) got dislodge. A series of poking came along. How could a little one could sleep better if he will be awaken again and again just for IV insertion?  I knew it’s very painful because he always produces a far flung cry.

I prayed that the nurses which they called “shooters” will eventually shoot the good veins for his IV  and no to cut down issue. Luckily the fifth nurse from the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) came and was able to hit the correct vein for the IV. Thank God I am relief.

SOME HOSPITAL UPDATES

Let me start the good news guys.

My hubby and i was amaze upon seeing Rus eating his cereal, CERELAC very well. In fact he will grab his spoon, making moves that he wants for more. He drinks his milk well. In fact he can consume 3 ounces every 3 hours.

He pooh for two times in 2 days. His doctor was very happy of this little but significant changes.

Rus undergo another blood transfusion. He don't have fever yet his hemoglobin and hematocrit drops. this is already his fifth time of  blood transfusion.

Regrading our hospital bills, it is still high. We can not discharge without external support. To tell you guys, we were so blessed that their are still people whom we called philanthropist. My hubby loans a 10k to his boss. However she only allow my hubby to pay the first half only because the other half will serves as her donation to us. My sister-in-law just visited us in the hospital just to gave us cash, which we eventually use in our bills.

My heart melts of their generosity. My heart whispers a simple prayer of thanksgiving. My family was been helped. He only stayed in the hospital for 4 days and 3 nights. We are all happily discharged and we go back home safely.

This  photo was taken a day before discharge.
